Most of the top universities like MIT, Princeton, Yale and Columbia University, require GPA as well as SAT scores from their applicants. As they claim to scrutinize the degree on an overall basis, the truth is that GPA is always given more consideration. Universities are looking for students who are competitive in their own environment which is denoted by a high GPA. Test scores show the applicants’ ability against all students across the country, which is not a very fair way to judge the applicant.
